PRESS RELEASES 2007 Solar Tour Highlights more than 40 Solar Powered Homes July 11, 2007 Press Release Contact: Plans for the 17th Annual Tour of Solar Homes and Buildings are now underway. This will be our biggest year yet with more then 40 homes on the tour encompassing an area from Frederick and Baltimore counties in Maryland, the Washington DC Suburbs and Northern Virginia. Homes and buildings on the tour will be a mixture of solar passive and solar powered designs including photovoltaic (pv) systems, solar hot water systems, radiant heat, efficient appliances and energy saving building construction techniques. Many of the homeowners also practice energy and water conservation, recycling, composting and drive fuel efficient or alternative energy vehicles. The tour will take place from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm on Saturday and Sunday, October 6 and 7, 2007. Visitors will be able to tour the homes and discuss the systems with the homeowners. A Solar Tour Guide and map will be available in September for visitors to plan their trips. We will provide Guide locations and availability soon.
